Purely designed as a windsurf foil board, the Alien enables all the variables to work in harmony and move beyond simply balancing on a foil to WINDSURFING on a foil. A functional foil board with refined details that makes foiling both accessible AND desirable.
The Alien development program was initiated when the disappointment of bolting a hydrofoil to a normal windsurf board was realized. By analyzing and gaining a deep understanding of the new variables that foiling introduced, we saw that specific foil-oriented equipment was required to elevate the experience to a true windsurfing sensation; blasting in control and carving turns rather than balanced on top, nervously trimming.
The differences between the Alien and a normal freeride are many; shape, length, rocker, stance, pretty much everything. But this new geometry works in conjunction with the foil and rig to deliver balance, and a new windsurfing world to any competent windsurfer. It opens up more locations to windsurf, and can double or triple your days on the water.
Stable enough for your first flights, the Alien has the considered details to deliver performance so as not to be outgrown.

Based on the Foil X model, the same features that make the Foil X work for wind foiling make them ideal for wing foiling: the ultra-compact outlines make them easy to control, easy to maneuver and light for take off. The extended flat bottom shapes make them accelerate, gather speed and reach take off speed with less power. The rail cut-aways help you sink the tail to pop up onto the foil and the wide nose and wide tail makes the board stable to stand on. To convert from wind foil to wing foil, simply remove the wind foil from the tail and mount the wing foil to the twin US box tracks. Optionally, you can move footstraps to the wing-foil positions to add control. Two leash inserts allow you to secure the board to your ankle and the wing to the board.

HD stands for Heavy Duty. The new WAVE GRENADE HD has 36cm or 24cm of adjustment for better compatibility with our wave sail range. We analyzed the need for more reliable tubes over this increased length and tested a variety of Aluminum specification. We decided on a wall thickness 33% thicker and an increased outside diameter, for the ultimate durability against bending and breaking.

RIG YOUR SAIL IN UNDER 1 MINUTE
The CYCLOPS extension has a single pulley for rapid loop ‘n go rigging. Simply pass the loop of rope through the tack pulley on the sail and hook it over the single pulley on the extension. A single pull applies full downhaul tension in seconds.
All the ropes and pulleys are kept in perfect alignment to eliminate a lot of the friction and makes up for any loss of leverage from less pulleys.
A built-in handle negates the need for any tool, and stuff into the downhaul pocket on the sail.
Formuline rope is used to further reduce friction and minimize rope wear.
