Designed to highlight only the performance characteristics that are vital for the developing windsurfer, the Verso is a feature-packed board with an intuitive feel.
The Verso is specifically designed and fully tested to assist you in all aspects of Freeride windsurfing and is especially reassuring for those learning all variations of gybing.
Performance characteristics include; a centralised buoyancy for enhanced stability and control when working your way into the harness and straps. A progressive rocker-line promotes acceleration for super early planing and gybing exits. Push it onto its rail for full speed blasting, and you’ll still feel the acceleration to push the limit of your comfort zone.
The hardest move you’ll learn on a windsurfer is the gybe. The Verso covers this with a very stable approach, a controllable carve, and increased exit speed. This board is intentionally designed and has been proven to assist the rider through the key stages of the turn and build consistency.
Simplifying the technical challenges a progressing windsurfer has to face is the main goal of the Verso. Everything is pre tuned for you; The purpose-built Verso powerbox fin is ready to go. The logical three-stage foot strap insert options cover the core phases of progression and both fin and straps can be fitted, tuned, and positioned quickly with the HEX4 tool (included). Developed by Jean Louis Colmas in 1984, Wood Technology became Starboard’s trademark construction in 1995. Wood Technology remains a favourite for riders preferring more comfort, more control and the unique crisp feel of an original Starboard. It’s time to bring back this technology while reducing our CO2 footprint. Full wood sandwich lamination of 0.6mm Australian Pinewood over modern, recyclable 3mm PET core foam ensures durability and comfort in a good strength to weight ratio. Today’s wood is less visible in modern graphics; UV protected by fresh blue paint and stickers that compliment the natural grain with a really nice effect. A classy re-edition of a classic Starboard Original.

The exciting new 2023 Carves deliver big on effortless planing, autopilot jibing and a controlled ride in any conditions. We never felt so accomplished about a board range. Each board individually shaped for the intended conditions and skill level. On the larger sizes, a long flat section makes for extra easy passive planing and a smooth ride to let you find the footstraps effortlessly. Midrange sizes carve like a small board, yet switching your stance and flipping the sail you have the confidence of a bigger board, thanks to a combination of thinned out rails towards the tail and thicker forward rails. The small sizes deliver a true sporty feel with higher top end speed and that extra bit of control you’ll need for windsurfing confidently in strong wind.

Purely designed as a windsurf foil board, the Alien enables all the variables to work in harmony and move beyond simply balancing on a foil to WINDSURFING on a foil. A functional foil board with refined details that makes foiling both accessible AND desirable.
The Alien development program was initiated when the disappointment of bolting a hydrofoil to a normal windsurf board was realized. By analyzing and gaining a deep understanding of the new variables that foiling introduced, we saw that specific foil-oriented equipment was required to elevate the experience to a true windsurfing sensation; blasting in control and carving turns rather than balanced on top, nervously trimming.
The differences between the Alien and a normal freeride are many; shape, length, rocker, stance, pretty much everything. But this new geometry works in conjunction with the foil and rig to deliver balance, and a new windsurfing world to any competent windsurfer. It opens up more locations to windsurf, and can double or triple your days on the water.
